I have a 50 X that locks up with the smallest of fingerprint on the underside/edge with Adobe PhotoShop 5.5 installation disk. They sent a replacement at my request, but it does the same thing. I take the disk and run tepid water over it, then with lint free paper towels, I dry it carefully. Works for me overtime.

Trying several things, I finally got to install Windows 95 by reseting my Bios Feature Set-up. It did not crash during installation. BUT I STILL have my beeping/freezing problem under Windows 95!!!
